Among ‘protective looks’, warm and soft materials and a barely visible elegance, the Autumn-Winter 2022/23 collections presented at Micam Milano also confirm the ankle boot as the real winner of the season.
We have already found in the first releases of the season how much the ankle boot, in all its variations, from the most aggressive to the most comfortable one, is the real winner of the season.
What we saw at Micam for next autumn/winter 2022/23 does nothing but confirm the signs and offers a panorama of both male and female trends absolutely in line with the desire for ‘protective’ looks, a sort of armour or manifestation of strength, as if to face daily adversities with combat boot or mountain inspired models.
If a hint of elegance returns to peek out, it does so by relying on traditional stylistic features, without upsetting and without ambition to amaze. When looking for a more original and unusual touch, it relies on the Seventies, on that retro spirit that knew how revolutionise.
The world that refers to the artisan taste, to that leather that smells of nature, authenticity and quality is very interesting, while the exploration of the lands of the Moccasin deepens even more exploring forms and volumes able to reinvent their charm. Not that they were missed, given that they have never disappeared from the fashion radar, but the Texan ankle boot mood still collects its success and is proposed in a traditional way.
We leave everything that suggests softness and warmth for the grand finale. Materials that wrap like protective mantles, which promise to avoid the harshest frost, but which, underneath, point to the fluffy style, to that soft caress, a promise of certainty and safety.
