Outsoles focus A/W ’24-25: sustainable materials, new production processes, and fast design

And so it is, in fact, also for the coming autumn winter 2024-25, in which many soles and structures and heels pur- sue their search for aesthetically innovative solutions by still work- ing on large volumes and aggressive designs. But in all sincerity, much more interesting and fascinating are the projects that many companies are developing that are directed to revolutionize the world of shoe soles in some way.

But in all sincerity, much more interesting and fascinating are the projects that many companies are developing that are directed to revolutionize the world of shoe soles in some way.

A great many focus on various aspects of sustainability, starting with finding materials that are increasingly devoted to recycling (both as a starting point and as an end-of-life perspective). Many efforts are also being made to research bio-based materials. In addition to this work on materials, however, there are also those who develop production systems and processes that can make not only more efficient but also more environmentally friendly the moment of design and construction of structures.

Aesthetics and creativity yes, one cannot do without them, however, efforts to imagine new perspectives on design and production is undoubtedly the next frontier to look out on.
